Dance Ireland also manages DanceHouse, on licence from Dublin City Council.
History
Dance Ireland is the parent organisation and the trading name of the Association of Professional Dancers in Ireland Ltd (APDI). Established in 1989, incorporated as a not-for-profit in 1992, APDI rebranded in 2006, on assuming responsibility for DanceHouse and granted Charitable Status in 2012.
Initially administered under the umbrella of the Dance Council of Ireland, APDI was created as a proactive support for dancers and choreographers. While our founding principles remain the same, the organisation has evolved over the past 27 years and provides a crucial platform for its members to innovative, create and connect nationally and internationally.

Located in the heart of the North-East inner city, DanceHouse comprises 6 purpose-built dance studios, Artists’ Resource Room, artists’ kitchen/green room facilities & exhibition spaces. DanceHouse is a working home for all forms of dance practice and a hub for the wider dance community.
