Dance Connect - the project
In September - November 2015, a selection of artists was offered an artistic and technical residency together with a meet and greet with the European local contexts including the visit to some festivals and encounters with local artists, workshops, amongst others.
The selected artists to participate in Dance Connect were Hemabharathy Palani with the piece "Twine", Prasanna Saika with "Diabolique" and Surjit Nongmeikapam with "Nerves". This selection was done during the EDN Outreach to Bangalore (Attakkalari Biennial), a visit that offered the opportunity to meet the creators in their local context.
Dance Connect was organised under the leadership of Attakalari (IN). EDN partners included Mercat de les Flors / Graner (Barcelona, Spain) and O Espaço do Tempor (Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal). Non-EDN partners included the festival Dance Umbrella (UK).
This project was funded by the Creative Encounters of the Asia-Europe Foundation.
